SAFE AND FUN EVENT FOR CHILDREN & YOUNG TEENS:
Kincora Trunk or Treat is a daytime Halloween event, making it an ideal destination for families with children and young teens, including very young children, children with disability, young wheelchair users, or kids and youth who might feel uneasy about nighttime trick-or-treating at stranger’s homes. Kincora Trunk or Treat creates a fun, safe, and welcoming atmosphere where everyone is included and celebrated.
EVENT CANDY:
Safety is our priority – all treats are store-purchased and commercially wrapped.
HOST:
Kincora Trunk or Treat is part of Symons Valley United Church’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community and creating spaces where families can connect and create lasting memories. It is a great day out for families, allowing everyone to dress up, meet neighbours, and enjoy some safe trick-or-treating fun. Our next Community event will be the Kincora Neighbour Day in June 2025.
COMMUNITY PARTNERS:
Al Makkah Calgary Islamic Society (AMCIS) is one of our Community Sponsors for the Kincora Community Trunk or Treat. AMCIS holds Friday, Eid, and Ramadan Taraweeh prayers and various Islamic programs at the Symons Valley United Church (SVUC). SVUC and AMCIS have a long-standing partnership with many shared community meals and events throughout the year.
The Kincora Community Association (KCA) was formed in July 2008 as a way for community members to engage and participate in their local neighbourhood. Symons Valley United Church appreciates the KCA’s dedicated volunteers who manage and organize various events and programs in Kincora. Symons Valley United Church is the location for the KCA Kincora Easter Egg Hunt and we support each other’s events throughout the year, fostering a strong and collaborative community spirit.
